PLEASE NOTE: The course start date listed on your enrolment is when you will receive access to Module 1 content, NOT the time you are expected to attend a session. First Zoom Mentored session will be WEDNESDAY 21 May at 6.30pm
The content for the first module will be released on Wednesday 14 May and the first mentored zoom session is Wednesday 21 May at 6.30pm. You will receive zoom links and module access info closer to start date. Each subsequent module will be released the day after each zoom session. You do not need to attend a zoom session at that time. Work through module 1 over the week as preparation for your first mentored zoom session. All mentored zoom sessions will be recorded for students to access. You will maintain access to the module content for 12 months from the start date (will expire 14 May 2026) and access to Zoom class videos will available until early July 2025.
These classes are designed to introduce the student to a broad range of classic Soul and Rhythm ’n’ Blues music styles. Key features of this broad genre are revealed through the performance of historically important repertoire from the 1950s/60s/70s through to the present era. Kids at the Con School Holiday Workshops (6-10yrs) run for 5 hours each day, from 9am to 2pm. Activities include pitch and rhythm work using tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, active listening activities, and the opportunity to make your own instrument.
