Bernice Tesara is a jazz trumpeter, bandleader, educator and composer. A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium and regular fixture of the live music scene, Bernice has played with the likes of Australian National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Sirens Big Band, as well as managing her own projects such as the Return of the Bern and Canines and Dragonflies. She is an advocate for gender diversity in jazz, as well as jazz education evidenced by participation in the 2025 WIJO Mentors program and co-developed pilot project Too School for Cool.
